Shahin Tavackoli, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Shahin Tavackoli, M.D., F.A.C.C. is a graduate of the University of Texas in Galveston, completing his residency at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, and completing his fellowship at UTMB in Galveston, Texas.
He is certified in Cardiovascular Diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a fellow of American College of Cardiology. He is a clinical assistant professor of internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and is involved in teaching medical students from Baylor College of Medicine who visit his office as part of their core curriculum. He serves as the medical director of the ultrasound department at Comprehensive Heart Care, PA.
Dr. Tavackoli has been published in peer reviewed journals and has been an invited speaker on various subjects relating to cardiovascular medicine. He is a council member of the Texas Chapter of the American College of Cardiology. He is on the board of directors of the Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston and is on the External Advisory Committee of the Biomedical Engineering Department at University of Austin. He recently completed a term serving as Chairman of the Department of Cardiology at Memorial Hermann, Memorial City hospital.
Dr. Tavackoli has been in private practice of cardiology since 2004, he is married and has a son who is currently attending college locally at the present time. Dr. Tavackoli’s interests are in the area of music, archaeology, history, and photography. He is a patron of the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. He travels abroad regularly and speaks Farsi and some Turkish in addition to English.
